Something new we did this year was spend New Year's Eve and New Year's Day together in Carmel
We stayed at the Coachmann's Inn and welcomed in the New Year on the beach
At the stroke of midnight we toasted with sparkling cider on the 10th hole at Pebble Beach
Yes, we climbed up!

I have been thinking a lot lately about how quickly the years slip by...
I love the words from the song by ABBA entitled, "Slipping Through My Fingers"...
If you will read them below or listen to them as they play, you will know exactly
If you will read them below or listen to them as they play, you will know exactly
how I feel about my girls...
Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that I'm losing her forever
And without really entering her world
I'm glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table
Barely awake, I let precious time go by
Then when she's gone there's that odd melancholy feeling
And a sense of guilt I can't deny
What happened to the wonderful adventures
The places I had planned for us to go
(Slipping through my fingers all the time)
Well, some of that we did but most we didn't
And why I just don't know
Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see what's in her mind
Each time I think I'm close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Schoolbag in hand she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile

Mom this was so special! I think that this song about mother and daughter is so wonderful. I can imagine that it is a lot like how you feel...it is also how I feel when the daughter starts singing too (sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture, and save it from the funny tricks of time...) Time really does fly when you're life is wonderful and full of so many amazing, cherished memories. I have such amazing parents who provide so many opportunities to make these memories. I love you both more than words can say!
Ohhh so sweet.
You have such beautiful girls. I love each one of them.
You're a good mama.
Aw! I'm gonna cry! That was so sweet!
Seasons change...often too fast. Sweet sweet.
You are making me cry. Some days I want to roll back the clock and go back to having 4 little girls at home. Great pictures. The Falke girls all have such great hair, including Mom.
Time goes by so fast and my son is just only in kindergarten half way through and daughter in preschool so I will be simply be in awe when I see them go to college.
Sweet post dearie. You are the best mom. Our girls are lucky. Not that I'm counting but we rung in the new year on the 10th hole at Pebble not the 9th (makes perfect sense, rung in 2010 on the 10th...that was my plan...next year will be a little higher up on the course. I feel better now!) Love you, Brad
I love that song . . . it makes me sob. And yes, it brings back memories of my girls when they were little . . . where did the years go?? Now my own babies are mommas! Funny thing - I was just listening to that CD two days ago while I was driving down to Eugene to visit Katrina and my grandbaby, Henry. That song came on and a started bawling . . . gets me everytime!! I sure love and miss you kristy! Take care - hugs, Shelly
There is nothing like a good cry in the morning! The years do slip by so quickly. I miss the moments and treasure the memories.
Such beautiful girls. I can't believe how tall Abby is! I loved all the pictures. It was fun to see the picture of you and Ruth. Neither of you look any different than you did 20 years ago!
Oh Kristie, tears welled in my eyes as well. Love you and the girls! oh, and Brad too. :)
That song makes me cry every time. Your girls are lovely.
That song breaks my heart. This was the first time listening to it. I love it.
I love the heart in the sand. Time does go by too quickly!
So nice Kristy.
You're a very blessed woman to have these 3 incredible girls!
Enjoy each moment!
